Isle of Monday is a physical manifestation of my dreams and all things I love in life. Beginning with my affinity for vintage clothing to my spiritual practice, IOM infuses all my favorite images of strength, femininity, and beauty. For me, this is much more than a vintage store; it is a portal of discovery into my creative and spiritual side, and it represents my journey through change, reinvention, and realignment.
The process of curating my first collection for IOM began as a hobby. I love vintage shopping and am captivated by the understated beauty found in old, discarded clothing. I love reworking garments and putting fresh spins on tradition while still maintaining the integrity found in each piece. My intention is never to erase a garment’s history but to simply add to it in ways that serve a modern purpose. For me taking something old, sometimes damaged but always discarded, and transforming it into something beautiful is so rewarding. In life - just like in fashion – we are constantly transforming ourselves. We have endless opportunities for regrowth and redirection; we simply need to look within ourselves to find them.
If you’re a vintage lover like me, you can so easily pick up a discarded piece of clothing and see the beauty in it. You love adding contemporary twists on timeless classics and resurrecting old "out-of-style" garments. If we can look at these flawed, vintage clothes in such a way, why can’t we do the same with ourselves? We are all tattered in some way and carry with us the pain of the past. But just as we do with vintage clothing, we can reimagine and rework our lives it into something beautiful that fits our present need. This circular cycle of rebirth found in vintage clothing very much mirrors my personal life right now. That’s why I decided to name my store Isle of Monday. It is a play on the Isle of Man, which is known for its natural beauty and quirky attractions, and Monday because it signifies the beginning of a new week - a new day. Welcome to the Isle of Monday – a new beginning for me as I embark on my journey through change and transformation. I hope my continual growth inspires others to also change what no longer serves them and to reinvent themselves in ways that feel the most authentic to them.

IOM is ultimately a canvas for my self-expression and a channel for me to share my own experiences. I found that creating my own vintage collection ignited a feeling within me that I so longed for – I felt inspired, fulfilled, and excited. While I enjoy reinventing vintage garments into more modern wearable pieces, my true happiness lies in what that represents for me. If we can change old, flawed garments into something renewed and beautiful, then we can do the very same with our own lives.
Over the past 5 years, I’ve realized we all have unlimited potential; and the most profound thing that holds us back from achieving that potential is first and foremost ourselves. This is what I would like to share with you now in this blog – all the lessons I’ve learned, the books I’ve read, the people I’ve talked to and the revelations I’ve come upon. The most important thing I’ve learned is how deeply our beliefs affect every aspect of our lives.
In my next blog post, I'll explore how we create our own unique reality through our beliefs, thoughts and feelings. This realization has helped me so much over the last few months as I've been personally struggling with very large, very real changes in my life. Knowing I am able to harness and take control of my life has been so empowering and invigorating. I hope to ignite the same type of power in all my readers and remind them that they are in the driver's seat. This is your life. No one is you, and that is your superpower.
